Karina (soprano) is a Brooklyn-based multi-disciplinary performing artist, educator, and director. She is a co-founder and co-director of the new, grassroots opera company, Killer Queen Opera, and is a founding member of the New York-based vocal ensemble Musica Vera (a cousin ensemble to NYCC). Karina received her Bachelor's of Fine Arts and Music Education Certification for instrumental and vocal instruction from Carnegie Mellon University School of Music. She now performs, directs, and teaches in New York City's five boroughs.

Since 2017, Caitlin (mezzo-soprano) has been involved with NYCC as a member, soloist, and more. (Fun fact: she has a hat trick with NYCC, having sung soprano, alto, and tenor with the group.) She offers voice lessons, vocal coaching, and beginning piano lessons.
Currently she sings with the early music vocal ensemble Musica Vera, and is the soloist at Church of St. Edward the Martyr in East Harlem. She received a B.M. from NYU Steinhardt in Vocal Performance with a concentration in Musical Theater and a minor in Educational Theater. Some favorite NYC performances include: Elizabeth Gurley Flynn (The Joe Hill Revival), Aldonza (Man of La Mancha), Charlotte (Little Fish), Carrie Pipperidge (Carousel), Tosca with Loft Opera, Premiere of the Mealor Requiem with NYCC @ Carnegie Hall and several cabarets at Don't Tell Mama.
In addition to currently singing in NYCC, Sam (mezzo-soprano) is a solo and ensemble singer of western classical music, musical theater, pop/rock (as lead singer of the cover band Deep Sea Bistro), and most other genres you can name. She holds a Masters in Music & Music Education (with a focus on voice) from Teachers College, and is currently student-teaching Chorus, Band, and General Music in Brooklyn. Sam is profoundly grateful to have trained for the past decade in the studio of the late Catherine Mazzone, internationally renowned dramatic soprano; through these lessons, Sam has cultivated a knowledge of and passion for vocal pedagogy to support healthy, embodied, and authentic singing.
In her teaching, Sam draws from years of personal study and performance experience across genres (including western classical, liturgical, folk, musical theater, pop, rock, and more). As your teacher, Sam would aim to center your aspirations as a singer, whatever they may be. Sam would be honored to accompany you on your journey toward authentic self-expression, as you unearth and gain access to your unique, once-in-a-universe voice.
